Aiming at the problems existed in the process of machining the plate-fins, such as technological complexity, fins failing, high rate of rejection, high cost and so on, a new plastic rolling technology is put forward based on the traditional rolling principle in this paper. The finite element analytical models of rolling tool and workpiece are established. The Numerical simulations of plate-fins rolling forming process are realized with Deform-3D software. The state of stress-strain and law of metal flowing in the process of rolling are brought to light. The plate-fins rolling forming experiments are carried out by using industrial purity aluminiuniAL-1100. The experimental results show that fin appearance and characteristic parameters obtained from experiments are consistent with that of simulation. The researches verify the feasibility of the proposed plate-fins rolling forming method and the accuracy of the numerical simulation results, and lay a foundation for the application of plate-fins rolling forming method.
