摘要
The present article was elaborated from a study carried out in an aviary located in the municipality of Timbe do Sul, in the southern part of the state of Santa Catarina, Brazil. The author selected this property due to the access to consumption data and have the constructive characteristics for this study. The author adopted the following methodological procedures in this study: descriptive, bibliographical, field and case study. The selected Dark House configuration meets the requirements of being poultry houses with high use of electricity and with the best profitability among the other types adopted in Brazil. Primary data collection took place in the aviary through daily visits aimed to monitor energy data, record photos, videos, and interviews with managers. It concludes that the main contribution of photovoltaic systems is not only a reduction of the financial expenses for the poultry producer. Another factor was the reduction of the impact to the electricity grid and consequent reduction of consumption of non-renewable natural resources. In this context, the incentive to solar photovoltaic technology deserves attention and needs to be explored in order to reduce excessive waste of natural resources, contributing to reduce the need to import energy. One should also consider the lower pollution that renewable energies cause compared to nonrenewable energies. Therefore, this application becomes feasible, in order to contribute continuously to the environment in question and to the society.
