摘要
Additive manufacturing can be employed with composites and continuous fibre reinforced parts are being produced via Fused Filament Fabrication. In this study, we use the volumetric average stiffness method for predicting the stiffness matrix of AM composite parts. We also account for the infill pattern topology and strength to be evaluated through a semi-analytical model. This approach overcomes some difficulties of predicting failure of AM composite parts, specifically the first ply failure (FPF) by providing stress limits The accuracy of the model and possibilities of improvements are discussed.
