Emission color tuning with polymer molecular weight for difluoroboron dibenzoylmethane-polylactide

摘要
Difluoroboron dibenzoylmethanepoly(lactic acid) emission is sensitive to the polarity of the surrounding medium. As the polymer molecular weight increases, fluorescence maxima blue-shift for these dye-polymer conjugates. A similar shift is noted in their delayed emission spectra. This "green to blue" color change may be attributed to decreasing fluorophore-fluorophore interactions and polarity with increasing polymer molecular weight.
