Texture evolution in semi-solid partial remelting and its effect on the microstructure of magnesium alloy

摘要
The aim of research is to investigate microstructure evolution, grain growth mechanism and texture evolution of AZ91 magnesium alloy samples treated by equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) using route A. These samples were treated by one-pass and four-pass ECAP, respectively. During subsequent partial remelting, one-pass ECAP formed sample mainly followed Ostwald ripening mechanism. However, grain coalescence was dominant in the four-pass ECAP formed sample. For four-pass ECAP formed sample, texture densities were almost unchanged before and after partial remelting. However, sheet texture promoted grains growth kinetics by coalescence. (C) 2018 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
