Chemistry in materials education

Chemistry is playing an increasing role in the synthesis and design of materials. At the same time, chemistry itself is undergoing a great transformation and goes beyond the molecular domain. Materials chemistry has emerged to become an integral part of main stream chemistry in the last two decades. It is therefore important that new chemistry is part of materials education at all levels. Materials chemistry should be an integral part of undergraduate and post-graduate courses in materials science.
