摘要
Hexadecachlorophthalocyanine cobalt (CoPcCl) has represented excellent catalytic capacity for polysulfide conversion. Phthalocyanine catalyst-coated porous carbon spheres have been prepared as host materials for Li-S batteries. In a battery, a small amount of phthalocyanine catalysts is dissolved in the electrolyte, which ensures the continuous contact between the catalysts and the active substance during the whole electrochemical reaction process. For the sulfur-based cathode with poor electrical conductivity, the adsorption and catalytic capacity of the composite can improve the electrochemical performance significantly. Moreover, the theoretical calculation results are in agreement with the experimental results, showing that the presence of CoPcCl lowers the energy barrier for polysulfide conversion and Li2S nucleation, accelerating the electrochemical reaction kinetics.
