Printed Texture with Triangle Flat Pins for Improving the Isolation between Two Parallel Gap Waveguide Lines

摘要
In this paper, a novel groove gap waveguide (GGW) based on mixed fabrication technology is presented. We use the printed texture with triangle flat pins as the EBG surface. Compared to the traditional square cross-sectional unit cells, the main advantage of this printed cell is that it is compact and cheap to manufacture. Furthermore, it is helpful for reducing the mutual coupling by placing two or more rows of printed texture between two adjacent parallel GGW transmission lines, in particular at high frequencies such as for millimeter and submillimeter. By adjusting the base width of the flat pins, it can optimize the isolation effectively. From the simulated results, the isolation above 40dB is realized at Ka band.
