摘要
Acute coronary syndrome as a manifestation of coronary heart disease is the main cause of long-term mortality in stroke patients, with an annual incidence of 2% in the Czech Republic. The occurrence of stroke alone doubles the risk of myocardial infarction. It follows that the presence of symptomatic coronary artery disease and screening for asymptomatic coronary artery disease are highly worthy of attention. Human, financial and logistical factors dictate that it is impossible to screen all stroke patients for the presence of asymptomatic coronary artery disease, so considerable effort should be devoted to the proper selection of high-risk patients, those who would benefit most from the detection of coronary artery disease.
