摘要：

A three-dimensional photoelastic investigation of two typical pin/tube configurations subjected, in turn, to axial tension, axial compression, bending in the plane containing the axes of the tube and pin, and torsion about the tube axis, is described. The principal features of the deformations and stress distributions and the contrasting effects of the different forms of loading are illustrated and discussed.
