MR imaging of the knee ligaments and the postoperative knee

MR imaging is a common, accurate, and cost-effective diagnostic study in the evaluation of internal derangement of the knee. Ligamentous disruptions are an important component of knee injuries and require accurate clinical assessment and imaging for optimal management. For the radiologist, this requires knowledge of normal anatomy, technical details regarding MR imaging, normal and abnormal MR findings, and the clinical significance of the results of these injuries. This article discusses the MR imaging evaluation of knee ligament injuries, anterior cruciate Ligament. reconstruction, and the clinical relevance of the MR imaging findings.
