摘要：

Direct estimators of L moments are derived by following closely the definition of L moments. Using the derived direct estimators eliminates the need for using probability-weighted moments when estimating L moments and thus the need for bringing in the subject of probability-weighted moments when describing the method of L moments. Source code of a FORTRAN subroutine for calculating L moments using the direct estimators is listed.
