Zinc Sulfide thin films were successfully deposited on glass substrates by spray pyrolysis method. The films were grown at different substrate temperatures in the range, 300-400 degrees C. The effects of substrate temperature on the structural and optical properties were studied. The XRD profiles showed that the films are polycrystalline with cubic structure grown preferentially along the (111) axis. The optical studies exhibit direct allowed transition. Energy band gap vary from 3.43 to 3.80 eV. The thermal behavior of the material has been investigated by TG/DTA and analyses.
