摘要
Some people may have poor auditory temporal resolution which may affect their ability to clearly perceive speech or music. Gap in noise tests are proven to be sufficient tool for temporal resolution assessment among other testing battery tools. However, some people may not have easy access to the auditory clinic. Therefore, an application was designed for auditory temporal resolution assessment outside the clinic in relatively short testing time. Using only a laptop and headphones, the test was conducted in a quiet area to obtain Gap Detection Threshold. Thirty normal-hearing subjects were tested, their average GDTs was 5.48 milliseconds. The average GDTs obtained in this study was in the normal range compared to previous studies. such a test could be utilized as a self-test or screening test for auditory temporal resolution after further investigation.
