摘要
This paper simulated and analyzed the cause of the mixed oil segment in a straight pipe. The goal of this paper is to show how the concentration distribution of a contaminated product changes when the pipeline diameter changes by connecting to a reducer. Based on a mathematical model of the contamination in batch transportation, using FLUENT, the numerical simulation was accomplished for batch transportation of diesel and gasoline in a straight pipe, a concentric reducer pipe and an eccentric reducer pipe. The analysis was carried out to determine the concentration distribution of the contaminated product in these pipes. The results show that the length of the mixed oil segment in the concentric reducer pipe is shorter than that in the eccentric reducer pipe. Thus, the concentric reducer is an ideal choice.
