摘要
In this study, an attempt was made to study the effects of the nanoclay concentration and the mixing rate on nanoclay dispersion and the properties of the polyethylene/polyamide (PE/PA). The degree of dispersion of the nanoclays was characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis. It was also found that at higher concentrations of nanoclay, oxygen permeability decreased. The fracture surface of the nanocomposites was studied by SEM and revealed the effect of higher nanoclay contents on the distribution pattern of PA through the PE. Mechanical tests were conducted to compare the mechanical properties of the nanocomposites to those of the PE.
