Effect of Inhibitors on the Critical Pitting Temperature of the High-Entropy Alloy Co1.5CrFeNi1.5Ti0.5Mo0.1

摘要
The purpose of this study is to investigate the effect of inorganic/organic inhibitors on the pitting potential (E-pit) and critical pitting temperature (CPT) of the high-entropy alloy Co1.5CrFeNi1.5Ti0.5Mo0.1 in chloride solutions using potentiodynamic polarization tests. The results indicate that six anions all retard the occurrence of pitting corrosion; the inhibitive effect decreases in the order: nitrates(sic) benzonates > acetates(sic) perchlorates > citrates > molybdates. The SEM micrographs show that perchlorates and citrates inhibit propagation of stable pits; acetates and molybdates restrain nucleation of stable pits. (C) 2011 The Electrochemical Society.
