摘要
Since both heat and electricity are produced in the cogeneration system, residential heating can be done independently from the grid. Stirling engine is proposed to use for rural areas where electricity cannot reach. It can be used also for independence from power cuts and increasing energy security and distributed energy production. In this study a novel micro-combined heat and power production system (mu-CHP) which consisted of photovoltaic modules (PV), Beta type Stirling engine and coal-fired boiler was designed and manufactured to heating of multi-family house in Mugla, Turkey. Performance and economic analyses of mu-CHP system were performed. The daily average electricity production of Stirling engine and PV was 3.126 kWh. The daily average heat production of Stirling engine and coal boiler was 985.97 kWh. Average thermal efficiencies of the mu-CHP system with and without Stirling engine were 31.78% and 30.78%, respectively. Average Carnot efficiency of the Stirling engine was 30.2%. Electricity was charged in battery. Electricity need of auxiliary equipment of the heating system was met from battery. Thus, mu-CHP system can be used for residential heating independently from the grid, especially in rural areas. This study will provide insight using mu-CHP systems in residential heating and real conditions. (C)& nbsp;2022 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
