Effect of Fe doping on the catalytic performance of CuO-CeO2 for low temperature CO oxidation

摘要
Cu1Ce8Fex-O catalysts for low temperature CO oxidation were prepared by an improved citrate sol-gel method with incorporation of thermal treatment under N-2, and characterized by the nitrogen adsorption-desorption, XRD, CO pulse experiments, CO-TPR and CO-TPD. When x = 1, the Cu1Ce8Fe1-O catalyst shows higher catalytic activity for CO oxidation, and the reaction temperature for 90% CO conversion (T-90) is only 50 degrees C. The presence of Fe in Cu1Ce8Fe1-O can improve the catalytic activity for CO oxidation, which results from its higher surface area, smaller crystalline size, higher activity and larger amounts of surface oxygen species.
