摘要
Glass samples with the composition xSrO-(90-x)B2O3-2CeO2-8Al2O3 (x = 25 - 50 mol%) were prepared by melt-quenching method to investigate the optical properties with respect to the structural changes. UV- Visible and Luminescence analyses were performed in the present work. Formation of BO4 units was responsible for increase in optical band gap (Eopt) and decrease in refractive index (n) at x <= 35 mol%. The presence of crystalline phases in the glass at x > 35 mol% led higher Eopt and lower n. BO4 formation and partial crystallization resulted in the enhancement and quenching of emission spectra in the SrOB2O3-CeO2-Al2O3 glasses, respectively. Copyright (c) 2022 Elsevier Ltd.
