A modification of the Antia-Buch chondrocutaneous advancement flap for helical rim reconstruction includes anterior cutaneous flaps based on the helical flaps. This provides additional cutaneous coverage while preserving ear size and shape and avoids the need for a skin graft or a postauricular flap. The technique was used to reconstruct a bite avulsion injury of the ear, but it has wider applicability for ear reconstruction after localized tumor extirpation.
