摘要
We have investigated photoluminescence (PL) and scintillation properties of 30BaO-15TiO(2)-(55-x)GeO2-xSiO(2) (BTGSx: x = 0, 13.75, 25, 30, 41.25 and 55) glasses and glass-ceramics prepared by the conventional melt quenching method. In the PL spectra of all the samples, an emission band was observed around 490 nm. In addition, another emission band was detected around 530 nm in the BTGS30, BTGS25, BTGS13.75 and BTG55 glass-ceramics. From the PL decay time constants, the emission bands at 490 and 530 nm were confirmed to be due to the T-3(1)-(1)A(1) transition of Ti4+ ions and E-2-T-2(2g) transition of Ti3+ ions, respectively. The quantum yields of all the glass-ceramics were higher than those of the glasses of the same chemical compositions. In scintillation spectra, all the samples showed emission peaks similarly seen in PL. The scintillation intensities of the glass ceramics were higher than those of the glasses of the same chemical compositions.
