Strength analysis of body-in-white panels accounting for the forming process

The quality of non-linear body-in-white strength analyses depends to a high degree on the modelling of materials and the local geometric properties of the panels. The latter parameters are determined by the deep drawing process. They are calculated in a deep drawing simulation and will be directly included into the finite element model. This method will be illustrated with some examples from real analyses. The relevance of these parameters out of a deep drawing simulation will be shown in comparison to experiment.
