"BIDROS" IN DOMESTIC INTERIORS IN BURGOS DURING THE 18th CENTURY

Whether by a mere criterion of domestic funcionality, contributing, as far as possible, to household heating - an essential complement to the use of fireplaces and braziers and the deployment of furnishings for lighting - or a socio-economic need, coming from the culture of appareances, the material culture of the domestic interiors of some eigthteenth-century Burgos homes was adorned with the appearance of glasses and chrystals on the windows, balconies, and alcove doors of their rooms. What homes enjoyed such supplies? What economic amounts had been invested in their availability? How many glasses and Chrystals are counted per household? Can a growing trend in its implementation be seen, as well as obvious signs of permeability in its enjoyment in the different rooms of the houses in Burgos of the eighteenth-century?
