摘要
A new explanation for the usefulness of post inhibitory rebound firing (PIRF) is shown; PIRF is suitable for the delay-mechanism of neural oscillators. Using this mechanism, a spiking neural network model to detect and hold the order of time-coded action potentials is presented. The model is composed of weakly coupled neural oscillators, each of which contains paired inhibitory spiking neurons and mutual connections to elicit PIRF. The use of PIRF makes the free-running frequency of oscillators not so sensitive to the strength of mutual connection. For the computer simulations, Hodgkin-Huxley equations are utilized.
