Preparation, spectral and magnetic properties of cyanato-cobalt(II) complexes with substituted imidazoles and benzimidazoles

Coordination geometry of the newly prepared coordination compounds of [Co(NCO)(2)L(2)] type (L is a derivative of imidazole or benzimidazole) was investigated applying infrared and electronic spectra and magnetic susceptibilities measurements. As ascertained, the cobalt(II) atom has a pseudotetrahedral structural arrangement and the NCO groups are terminally bounded through nitrogen.
