摘要
Small and medium-sized enterprises ("SMEs") form the basis of the Slovak economy. They represent a huge contribution not only to the economy, but also to the development of the regions and the country as a whole. The contribution deals with the financing of small and medium-sized enterprises. Its aim is to characterize the sources of financing, to analyse the availability of these sources for SMEs in the conditions of the Slovak Republic and their subsequent comparison. Although business conditions for SMEs are constantly improving. Their development and innovation are rising in a direct way and support from the state is required. Our effort is to analyse available funding opportunities, focusing on alternative forms, which are the ideal choice for innovative businesses. Innovative businesses are particularly concerned because, in modern times, they have a significant market position with their innovations and technologies. The effort is therefore to provide information on the available sources of capital-raising, which often businesses do not even have information, and also give them some guidance on how to select the most appropriate funding option for the business.
