Planetary Dynamics in Binary Systems: A Qualitative Analysis of the S-Type Case

摘要
The qualitative dynamics of S-type orbits in binary systems is studied in the framework of the three-dimensional Elliptic Restricted Three-Body Problem. A chain of canonical Lie-transforms is applied to reduce stepwise the original, time-dependent system to one of one degree of freedom. Then, the reduced systems are analyzed, computing the relative equilibria of the flows and their stability.
