Localization effects in a two-electron quantum dot molecule: The case of AC-DC driving fields

The combined interaction of an AC and a DC field with two electrons in a double quantum dot structure is studied. Under appropriate conditions, the system can be described by an effective two-level model. Conditions for localization of the electrons in the same quantum dot are readily derived. The validity of the conditions is assessed by numerical calculations. (C) 2004 American Institute of Physics.
