摘要
We demonstrate the design and fabrication of a parallel-hetero-perturbation structure made by setting the two composite semi-infinite claddings of a perfect two-dimensional photonic crystal slab W1 waveguide to have different lattice constants. The transmission spectra of this structure are measured experimentally, and the result shows an additional band gap in the middle of the transmission region of either ordinary W1 waveguide that is introduced in the cladding photonic crystal slab. The appearance of the stop band is ascribed to the mismatch of the phase condition during the light propagation along the waveguide. Our experimental results are in good agreement with numerical simulations.
