摘要
An electric load transient mitigation controller for hybrid Proton Exchange Membrane fuel Cells (PEMFC)-battery power generation systems is described. The hybrid Fuel Cell Distributed Generation (FCDG) is controlled during load transient such that the fuel cell provides the steady-state part of the load, and the battery supplies the transient part of the load. A current and temperature dependent voltage source gives the potential difference due to chemical reactant variations and fuel and oxidant delay. Low-pass filter, which is thermal component of load transient mitigation controller, filters out high-frequency components of load transients. The battery picks up the PEMFC transient current and the converter output current increase to its new steady state. These results show that the smooth transition of FCGD systems from one operating point to the next is essential for their improved reliability and durability.
