Structural characterization of the solid solution(Fe1-xMnx)2O3 using X-ray diffraction data from polycrystalline samples

摘要
This work presents the structural characterization of the system (Fe1-x,Mn-x)(2)O-3, precursor of Fe-Mn catalysts. The X-ray powder diffraction analysis shows that the system forms a solid solution in the range 0 less than or equal to x less than or equal to 0.33, with all the compositions investigated displaying a rhombohedral structure, space group R-3c. As expected, the gradual incorporation of manganese in the crystalline structure is accompanied by a linear decrease in the cell volume.
