DBE is a new and complex endoscopic procedure. Early experiences suggest that it is technically more difficult than the conventional endoscopy and is associated with a special set of adverse events. In order to take full advantage of DBE, we must continue to refine our skills, modify available therapeutic tools, and make technical adjustments as we gain additional experience in this very special and valuable endoscopic system. © 2007 American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy.
