摘要：
In this paper, gum rosin was modified by the esterification of rosin acids with higher hydrophobic octadecanol, and the resulting resin was then used to prepare a neutral rosin size, which can be used in paper,4 sizing under neutral to alkaline conditions. Meanwhile, the influence of some sizing factors, such as the dosage of aluminum sulfate, pH value of starch, and the addition, of PAMs, has been investigated. The results suggested that good sizing efficiency of the neutral rosin size could be obtained under the following conditions: sizing pH 7.0, alum dosage 1%, 0.04% anionic polyacrylamide (APAM) used as co-retention aid.
