摘要
The development of non-noble metal-based electrocatalysts with high efficiency for the oxygen evolution reaction (OER) is of great importance for the practical application of electrocatalytic water splitting. Herein, we have synthesized tri-metal-based FeMoV oxide nanosheets on three- dimensional nickel foam (FeMoV/NF) for the OER by a simple hydrothermal method. Thanks to the decreased charge-transfer resistance and modified electronic structure, the optimized Fe0.5Mo0.1V0.4/NF electrode exhibits excellent OER performance with a low overpotential of 296 mV to deliver a current density of 100 mA cm(-2) and a small Tafel slope of 48.9 mV dec(-1) in a 1 M KOH solution; both values are much lower than those of commercial RuO2 supported on nickel foam (392 mV and 129 mV dec(-1), respectively). This work may provide a promising strategy for the design of highly efficient and low-cost electrocatalysts for the OER.
