The contribution of brace and filled-wall on the RC frame with special-shaped columns

摘要
On the basis of pseudostatic test results of the three specimens, frame, frame-truss and filled-frame with special-shaped columns, the contribution of brace and filled-wall is studied concerning of several important structure parameters, such as stiffness, load-carrying capability, ductility etc. It is found that three specimens perform differently in the tests because of their structure types. It is concluded that brace and filled-wall have a large contribution to the performance of structure. After adding brace and filled-wall, the important parameters, such as stiffness, load-carrying capability, ductility and energy dissipation etc, have been increased. It is also found that the filled-wall has more contribution than brace. However, the contribution of brace and filled-wall became very small when brace and filled-wall were damaged seriously at the late stage of the tests.
