The soldiers in the First World War: representations of combatants on French postcards in Great War (1914-1918)

This paper analyzes a group of representations imagistic transmitted through spread French postcards in the period of the Great War (1914-1918). Looking for to notice as the French combatants was represented in this media type and opposing with the soldiers' reports that struggled in the front, the research search through the method iconography/iconological developed by Panofsky (2011) and used in several works of Stancik (2009, 2017) to still notice ruptures and permanences of an social imaginary characteristic of the century XIX presents in the beginning of the century XX.
