摘要
This paper suggests that a re-orientation within science in terms of morals, ethics and higher values is needed. It argues that science and science education should encourage a deep-based relation to (respect for, dedication to, etc.) the object of study as part of a larger orientation to life, the world and existence. Similarly, scientists need to become aware of the inner moral-ethical dangers inherent in the very nature of models, prediction and similar features of modern science. The aim should be for all the higher forces of the self to be united, rather than a dissociation between 'objective' and 'scientific' fact on the one hand and higher values and life-meaning on the other.
