In the title compound, [Co(C16H8O8)(C10H8N2)(2)](n), the Co-II atom exhibits a distorted octahedral geometry defined by four O atoms from three 4,4 '-dicarboxybiphenyl-3,3 '-dicarboxylate ligands and two N atoms from two 4,4 '-bipyridine ligands. In the crystal structure, one-dimensional molecular chains are connected by O-H center dot center dot center dot N hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional supramolecular network.
