Deformation mechanism and calculation model of plate casting in solidification

摘要
Based on deformation experiments of beam sample cut from a plate casting, the relationship between varions effect factors and deformation was investigated, and the results show that warping curve is a smooth parabola. An approximate quadratic differential equation and its discrete model are proposed. The model indicates that the key factors leading to the deflection deformation are the thermal bending moment M and the flexural rigidity EJ formed in solidification process. The consistency between the numerical and experimental results proves the proposed method to be economical and effective to predict the casting deformation and finally optimize the foundry technology.
