摘要
In this work a reformulation of the parameters in the nominal curvature method of Eurocode 2 [1] is proposed, with a new definition of the maximum curvature of the column and the deflected shape. A comparison between Eurocode 2 [1] and the proposed formulation is made, considering: variable column heights; concrete classes from the low to high strength concrete; transverse loading; axial loads with different eccentricities; and variable load levels. In general the designs made with the present model give less steel area than in Eurocode 2 and can be used in high strength concrete. (C) 2010 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
