Vital dyes are used for many years in a variety of clinical situations. With their increased use for lymphatic mapping or in the preparation of labile blood products, reports of anaphylactic reactions have become more frequent. Clinicians must be aware of this specific risk and of the clinical characteristics of these reactions. (C) 2011 Elsevier Masson SAS. All rights reserved.
