摘要
The development of research on the BalancedScorecard (BSC) in the hospitality industry is recent, as it has begun to take off in recent years, while in general businesses it has been deployed since its inception. Therefore, it is necessary that it be included as a tool for improvement that university professionals come out equipped with, master it and apply it properly. The objective of this study is to present an example of a practical case of Strategic Planning and BSC in a hotel of the Melia Hotels chain, as part of the complementary activities to teaching. It is the presentation of a case study as a qualitative research design, corresponding to the descriptive level. As results, the way to successfully implement all the phases of the procedure used is shown, showing the usefulness of this tool for the formation of competences and the advantages of applying this theoretical method to the practical reality within the framework of the complementary activities to teaching for hotels and students, through the application of the IADOV technique, with satisfactory results.
