Multimode approximation for 238U photofission at intermediate energies

摘要
The yields of products originating from U-238 photofission are measured at the bremsstrahlung endpoint energies of 50 and 3500 MeV. Charge and mass distributions of fission fragments are obtained. Symmetric and asymmetric channels in U-238 photofission are singled out on the basis of the model of multimode fission. This decomposition makes it possible to estimate the contributions of various fission components and to calculate the fissilities of U-238 in the photon-energy regions under study.
