摘要
Incremental Sheet Forming (ISF) is a new process to produce complex sheet components by the CNC controlled movement of a simple tool. It has been experimentally investigated by producing various demonstrator components made of mild steel, stainless steel, aluminium. and titanium with special emphasis placed on limit strains, geometric accuracy and mechanical product properties. FEM simulations performed with shell elements agree fairly well with experimental results for the sheet thickness distribution and geometry of the demonstrator components. Additionally, the local stress and strain fields in the contact area between the forming head and the sheet have been studied in further detail using volume elements and a simplified part of the sample component.
