Mobile Service, "Mobile Sales", "Mobile Logistics" are on the edge. New technologies allowing companies to completely restructure the management of their field workers and realize significant mobile process gains. "Real-time interaction" is the key. A central workforce management system provides dynamic planning and dispatching of orders to the best engineer based on skills, current location and workload as well as urgency of the work order and availablity of spare parts. The mobile engineer is equipped with a state-of-the-art mobile application where he is immedialtely sent all new workorders, accepts them, registers his actions, time and kilometers, searches online for spare parts, scans used materials, prints the invoice and receives an electronic signature directly on his mobile device. All status changes are immediately synced to the central system, so that planners and even customers are provided a web interface allowing them real-time information on all account activities. This paper primarily examines how existing mobile business processes can be optimized and some of the best practices. The author also looks at the AVENTEON Mobile Business Assistant (MBA), one of the world-wide leading software products designed specifically for creating and optimizing real-time mobile business processes. The Mobile Business Assistant offers a unique mobile workflow model which allows the user to adjust the preconfigured industry-specific workflow to the specific needs of each company. This is central to providing the maximum business value.
