摘要
Friction welding is one of the established processes for joining of similar as well as dissimilar polymer/plastics and metals. In past decade numbers of application in different areas using this process have been reported, but very limited have been reported on properties of friction welded joints of dissimilar polymer/plastic materials as far as process capability analysis is concerned. In this present work efforts have been made to perform process capability analysis for hardness obtained (for frictional welded specimens of ABS and PA6 at optimized process parameters). The work-pieces for welding of plastic based material of ABS and PA6 were prepared on FDM setup (by using feedstock filament prepared on twin screw extruder). It has been observed that the proposed process is statistically controlled with sigma value 5.74 at optimized process parametric settings. (C) 2018 Elsevier Ltd. All rights reserved.
