摘要:
D-shaped fibers have attracted widespread attention due to their special structure and excellent performances. However, the fabrication of D-shaped fiber faces many challenges. Mechanical polishing and chemical etching are two traditional methods for D-shaped fiber fabrication, in which micro-crack or contamination is unavoidable. In this paper, we report an efficient method to produce D-shaped fiber with a pulsed CO2 laser. The effects of processing parameters on processing efficiency and surface quality are investigated experimentally, and the processing defects such as melting debris and oscillation are also studied.
