Characterized by shrinking space, shrinking time and disappearing borders, globalization is a concept that is at the centre of debate by education policymakers, scholars, professionals and practitioners, referring to the worldwide discussion, processes and institutions affecting local educational practices and policies. The interlinks between globalization, trade, poverty, development and environment cannot be ignored.
