摘要
The radical polymerization of beta-cyclodextrin host - guest complexes of ethyl acrylate initiated by AIBN in homogeneous aqueous solution have been studied. The effect of change of monomer and initiator concentration, temperature, time and different solvents on the rate of polymerization are studied. The rate of polymerization of uncomplexed ethylacrylate are also studied. It is observed that the polymerization occurred much faster and the percentage of conversion of monomer and the rate of polymerization are higher in case of polymerization of complexed ethyl acrylate in comparison to uncomplexed monomer. The rate of polymerization in presence of organic solvents is also studied. The viscocity and the molecular weight of polymer obtained in presence of beta-cyclodextrin is found to be higher in comparison to the polymer obtained without beta-cyclodextrin.
